teams after logging three season of collegiate track and two season
of collegiate cross country experience with the Braves.
While obtaining his masters in sports administration, Johnson not
only works as a graduate assistant at the UNCP bookstore, but he
assists the cross country coaching staff. He helps in developing
systems for timing and recording performances, manages morning
workouts, coordinates weekend group practices, manages equipment
inventory, produces weekly performance records and aides in the
travel process.
During his four year of undergrad education, Johnson competed in
the 5K, 8K and 10K in cross country and in the 400m hurdles, 400m
and 800m runs and the 4x400m relay in track and field. He finished
up his bachelors education with a 3.3 cumulative grade point
average in exercise and sports science in 2011.
He currently is a Specialist E-4 Officer Candidate for the U.S.
Army National Guard and aspires to obtain a college level coaching
position just as his mentors, Gary Aycock and Jeff Moody, have
done. He currently resides in Pembroke.
