Traci Priest improved her chances by purchasing the 250th ball for $2,800 and walked away with a 2008 Ford Focus to culminate the highly successful first annual Reverse Raffle held by the UNCP athletic department. The event raised more than $16,000 for athletic scholarships and was attended by more than 200 spectators in the English E. Jones Center.

Gene Warren, who served on the athletic department staff at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, has passed away. Warren served as the Universitys first-ever sports information director in the mid-1960s until his retirement in 1978.

The University of North Carolina athletic department and its internet broadcasting partner Penn Atlantic have announced that beginning with games played on Monday, Feb. 2., all UNCP games will be available for free. Prior to this, games had been available on a pay-per-view basis but continued expansion at Penn Atlantic will allow all games to be viewed for free with revenues generated from advertising.
