Bonnicksen makes the long trek to Pembroke after serving as a graduate assistant at Northern State the last two years. In addition, he will oversee the audio/video streaming efforts of the athletic department, while also assuming production responsibilities of the Black and Gold Report – a weekly television show aired during the fall and spring semesters on WFXB in Myrtle Beach.
“I am very excited to welcome Colin to the UNCP athletic staff,” Anderson said. “He was extremely impressive throughout the selection process with both his competency and his intelligence and I feel he will be a tremendous addition to our staff. With his work ethic and experience, I have no reservations in saying that he will help take the athletic media relations department at UNCP to a higher level of excellence.”
In addition to his primary duties at Northern State, Bonnicksen also served as the co-tournament director of the 2010 NCAA Super Region 3 Wrestling Tournament and has also served stints on the media relations staffs at the 2009 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament Midwest Regional in Minneapolis, Minn., and the 2007 Minnesota State High School League Girls’ Softball Tournament.
