122 Braves Earn Peach Belt Academic Distinction
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Much like they did last year, the student-athletes of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke have shown that their prowess in life is not limited to the athletic field after a school record breaking 122 student-athletes graced the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Thursday, the league office announced.
As a conference, the Peach Belt upped their total number of student-athletes honored from 863-1,080 dating back to last season’s honors, and UNC Pembroke increased their total from 94 up to 122 during the same time span. The 1,080 students honored this year is the first time in the conference’s 20-year history they have awarded more than 1,000 student-athletes.
The Presidential Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes at the 13 PBC member institutions who had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
The honor roll has been divided into four groups: Presidential Scholars, Bronze Scholars, Silver Scholars and Gold Scholars. All student-athletes with a GPA from 3.0 to 3.24 are Presidential Scholars while Bronze Scholars are 3.25 to 3.49; Silver 3.50 to 3.74 and Gold Scholars are those with a 3.75 to 4.00. Each student-athlete will receive a certificate from the conference office.
