AS A FRESHMAN (2009)

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
An all-state selection at Pinecrest High School for coach Jeff Hewitt … Earned all-conference, all-region and all-state accolades as a prep senior after registering a .423 batting average with six home runs, seven doubles and a pair of triples, as well as 21 stolen bases … Helped lead the Patriots to a share of the conference title, as well as a second round appearance in the state playoffs … Missed entire junior campaign due to injury … Played travel ball with the Carolina Hurricanes and coach Jeff Pettie and helped lead the club to three tournament championships … Was also a standout on the football team at Pinecrest, taking home both a defensive player of the game award and the special forces award.
