AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2011): Played in nine games for UNCP … Logged 32 tackles (26 solo), including two tackles for loss (-7 yards) … Also tallied a pair of interceptions and a pass break-up … Turned in three or more tackles against five different opponents … Booked seven tackles (all solo) in the season opener at Fayetteville State … Tallied one tackle in home games with Chowan and Wingate … Earned Beyond Sports Network Defensive Player of the Week accolades with a breakout game at Charleston (W.Va.) in which he recorded three tackles (two solo), one tackle for loss (-4 yards), two interceptions and a pass break-up … Both interceptions (second, third quarter) were followed by UNCP scoring drives … Made just one tackle against Carson-Newman, but it resulted in a three-yard loss for the Eagles … Tallied three tackles (two solo) at Newberry and six tackles (five solo) against Winston-Salem State … Logged a season-best 10 tackles, including a season-high eight solo stops, in the season finale against West Liberty.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Western Alamance High School for coach Hal Capps … Accounted for 22 touchdowns as a prep senior, while also racking up 1,134 passing yards and 605 rushing yards in leading the Warriors to a 9-4 record and a state playoff appearance … Earned all-conference and all-region laurels … Registered 20 tackles and a trio of interceptions as a prep junior in pacing Western Alamance to an 8-4 record and a state playoff appearance … Was also a standout basketball, baseball and track & field athlete for the Warriors … Captured the Mid-State 3A conference title in the high jump as a senior.
