20 Questions With Men’s Basketball Nathan Priest

UNCPBraves.com sat down with senior forward Nathan Priest to learn of his opinion on a variety of topics ranging from his heroes to how he wants to be remembered when he leaves Pembroke. The following 20 questions are a part of a continuing feature at your official Internet home for UNCP athletics.

The Tar Heel native currently holds the position of captain for the Braves, and has played in all seven games this season for the Black and Gold and garnered one start. He has totaled 107 minutes on the court, and averages 15.3 minutes per game and 10.6 points per game.  The 6-7 forward has posted a 70.0 percent free throw shooting percentage and a 61.2 field goal shooting percentage. He is second on the team in rebounding with 35, and averages 5.0 rebounds per game. Priest is the leading blocker on the team and second in the Peach Belt Conference with 14.

Since starting his career at UNCP, he was named PBC Player of the Week last season for his efforts on the court as he averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in two victories in December. He has played in 87 games throughout his time at UNCP and prides himself on being the squad's "Sixth Man" for the last two seasons.

The Celebrity I'd Love To Hang Out With For A Night: I would love to hang out with Will Ferrell, because he is one funny dude.

Other UNCP Teams You Watch Play: I try to make it to at least one event for all the sports to show my support.

Favorite City To Visit: Honolulu, Hawaii.  I went there this summer and loved it.

Favorite Pro Sports Teams: I really don't have a favorite in any sport.

My Heroes: My grandfather and my parents along with anyone who strives for greatness and doesn't give up on something they love just because it took a little work to get there.

Biggest Pet Peeve: When people's shoes do not match their belt, and vice-versa. 

One Thing People Don't Know About Me: I am a clean freak.

Best Place To Spend A Friday Night: At home spending quality time with my family.

Your Idea Of Perfect Happiness: The ability to be yourself, not put up a wall to everyone and just gel with people and not be fake. Keeping it 100 is the goal.

What I Love Most About UNCP?: I love and dislike the size of UNCP at the same time, because it's cool knowing everybody but yet it doesn't work out to my advantage sometimes.

I Came To UNCP Because: It was close to home, and I didn't want to be too far away from my parents and my serious girlfriend at the time. 

My Advice To Youngsters Would Be: Don't let other people tell you what you can and cannot do, because I proved the critics wrong and so can everyone else with a little hard work and determination.

What Is One Thing You Want To Happen Before You Leave UNCP?: I want to hang a banner and get some jewelry.

How Do You Want People At UNCP To Remember You?: I want people to say he was always real and never changed just because of the people he was around. That I worked to get everything I achieved and was giving nothing, but earned everything.
