Final Round 66 Helps Former Brave Finish Sixth At NGA Hooter's Tour's Buffalo Run Classic

MIAMI, Okla. – A mistake-free fourth and final round six-under par helped former UNC Pembroke golf standout Rex Willoughby to a sixth place finish at the NGA Hooter’s Pro Golf Tour’s Buffalo Run Classic over the weekend.

Willoughby, who lettered for the Braves from 2001-04, recorded six birdies and no bogeys in Sunday’s charge up the leaderboard. The Lumberton native birdied four of the first seven holes in the final round, then shot two-under par on the back nine. He closed out the Buffalo Run Classic 10 shots off the leader at -14 while pocketing $4,256 dollars worth of prize money.

Willoughby shot two-under par 70s in the first two rounds of the tournament, then shot a four-under par 68 in Saturday’s third round. The Hooter’s Golf Tour will next head to Choctaw, Miss., and the Dancing Rabbit Golf Course for the 2006 Pearl River Resort Classic, August 7-13.
