Braves 17th After First Round Of NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional
DELAND, Fla. – The UNCP men's golf squad finished Monday's first round in 17th place at the 2011 NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional which is being held at the Victoria Hills Golf Club in Deland, Fla.
The 17th-ranked Braves trail No. 4 West Florida by 20 strokes for the overall lead and are eight strokes out of tenth place.
Junior Jonathan McCurry leads the Braves after opening with a 74 on the par-72, 7,149-yard course that left him in a tie for 29th overall.
Fellow junior Scott Lambert and freshman Michael Mullmann recorded matching 76's to enter the second round in a tie for 60th overall and juniors Jordan Walor and Carson Lanier each opened with a 79 to close the day in a tie for 90th overall.
