Pullin Named To All-PBC Squad
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Having registered UNCP’s highest single-season goal total since 2004, sophomore forward Andy Pullin added to an already impressive collegiate resume on Friday afternoon as the Guatemalan was among 22 players named to the 2009 All-Peach Belt Conference Men’s Soccer team.
Pullin was among 12 PBC student-athletes to garner first team status, while the laurel marked the ninth-straight year that the Black and Gold has sent at least one representative to the distinctive postseason listing. Lander’s Adam Arthur and Clayton State’s Kyle Timm were named PBC Co-Players of the Year, Flagler’s Joseph Toby took home PBC Freshman of the Year laurels while FC head coach John Lynch collected Coach of the Year honors after pacing the Saints to the league’s regular season title.
Pullin scored more than twice as many goals as any other player on the squad this year, booking 33 points on 13 goals and seven assists, with 54 percent (33) of his team-best 57 shots going on target. The Guatamala City, Guatemala, was listed among the league leaders in every offensive statistically category, including ranking second in shots, points and goals scored. The sophomore finished the campaign tied for second in the PBC with his assist total.
