Eubanks Wins 100m Dash At Weems Baskins Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Maurice Eubanks took home first and second place honors in the 100m dash and 200m dash, respectively, at the Weems Baskins Invitational held on the campus of the University of South Carolina on Saturday.

Eubanks posted a time of 10.55 seconds in the 100m dash, while Karlos Jordan finished eighth with a time of 10.82 seconds. In the 200m dash, Eubanks finished with a time of 21.35 seconds while Jordan finished seventh with a time of 21.87 seconds. Malcon Jones competed in the 100m and 200m dashes with time of 11.51 seconds and 23.84 seconds, respectively. Jameel Joyner ran an 11.56 second 100m dash and 23.30 seconds 200m dash.

Jon Williams finished 14th in the 800m dash with a  time of 2:00.61 while Thomas McDonough set new personal season bests with a time of 2:09.98 in the 800m run and in the 1500m run with a time of 4:30.19.

Duane Thompson posted a mark of 6.06m in the long jump and 12.32m in the triple jump.

The men's track and field team will continue competition on Saturday when the Braves compete at the Terrier Relays in Spartanburg, S.C.
