DURHAM – Three distance runners registered personal bests in the 5000m run on the first day of competition for the UNCP men's track and field team at the Duke Invitational inside Wallace Wade Stadium on Friday.
Pardon Ndhlovu led the Braves with a team-best time in the event, finishing with a mark of 14:29.39 and cutting nearly two seconds off his previous personal best along with NCAA provisionally qualifying for the national meet. Freshman Chris Schroll trimmed six seconds off his personal best for a time of 15:08.03 and Kevin Clancy whittled nine seconds off his personal best with a time of 15:35.83.
The men's track and field team will compete at the Merrill Lynch Track & Field Classic on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
