Davis Collects Fourth Place Finish At Gene Anderson UNC Invite

CHAPEL HILL – The UNCP men's track and field team sent only senior AJ Davis Jr. to compete at the Gene Anderson UNC Invitation in the Eddie Smith Field House where the thrower took home a fourth place finish in the weight throw on Saturday afternoon.

Davis threw his second best mark of the year (15.05m) to land himself behind three NC State athletes as the highest finishing NCAA Division II athlete in the event. He also competed in the shot put, but did not post a mark as he fouled on each attempt. His best throw of the season in the weight throw came last week at the JDL Fast Track College Invitational with a mark of 15.63m.

The men's track and field team will be back in action on Saturday when the Braves travel to Savannah, Ga., to compete at the Savannah State Eyeopener hosted by Savannah State.
