4x100m Relay Team Places Second At Duke Twilight
DURHAM – The 4x100m relay of Jameel Joyner, Shaquille Ray, Donta' Allen and Jon Williams captured a second place finish to highlight action for the UNCP men's track and field team on Sunday at the Duke Twilight Invitational.
The relay team finished six one-hundredths of a second slower than the first place finisher and was seven tenths of a second slower than the fastest time run this season by the team as the squad crossed the finish line with a time of 41.80 seconds.
Senior AJ Davis Jr. notched a season best throw in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.09m to claim a seventh place finish.
Williams placed sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 48.99 seconds to post his third-fastest time in the event this season, while Ray crossed the finish line in seventh place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.84 seconds as he was four tenths of a second behind his personal best time.
The men's track and field team has concluded their season with a select few athletes continuing competition at Aggie Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T on May 13.
