UNCP’s Kevin Clancy and Pardon Ndhlovu have been named to the Division II Male Cross Country All-Academic Team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday afternoon.

UNCP cross country runner and captain Pardon Ndhlovu earned all-American status after placing 30th out of 182 runners at the NCAA II Cross Country National Championships on Saturday afternoon in Evansville, Ind.

UNCP freshman Pardon Ndhlovu was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) Southeast All-Region team along with three other Peach Belt Conference runners. The news was announced Tuesday afternoon.

Braves Place Fifth At NCAA Regionals
UNCP sent seven runners to Wingate University on Saturday morning to compete in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship 10K race. All seven Braves placed in the top 100 and the team came out with a top 4 finish while freshman Pardon Ndhlovu qualified for the national race with a top 5 finish himself.

UNCP Cross Country Partners With 'Soles4Souls'
The UNCP men’s and women’s cross country teams have joined with the ‘Soles4Souls’ organization in order to make an effort to give back to those who are in desperate need of footwear. The cross country teams are working out of UNCP and will be collecting donations of shoes, new or used, through November 20.

After winning his third event in as many outings with medalist honors at the East Carolina-hosted Pirate Invitational on Saturday, freshman Pardon Ndhlovu has captured his second Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week laurels, the league office announced. Men's Cross Country Ranked 10th in Preseason Poll
The UNCP Men’s Cross Country team was ranked 10th amongst the Southeast Region in a preseason poll done by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The National preseason poll was divided up into eight regions and was released Tuesday.

UNCP Women's Cross Country Nabs First Place Vote in Preseason Poll
In a poll voted on by the Peach Belt Conference’s head coaches Tuesday afternoon, the UNCP women’s cross country team was picked to finish sixth this season out of the PBC’s eleven teams while earning one first place vote from the conference. The UNCP men’s cross country team was also picked to finish sixth out of the conference’s eight teams.

Aycock Announces Open Tryouts
The UNCP cross country team will hold open tryouts for the upcoming season slated with a general interest meeting set for Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the English E. Jones Center in room 1185 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the office of Braves’ first year head coach Gary Aycock.
