UNCP To Host Fall Softball Clinic

PEMBROKE – Head softball coach Lacinda Melanson and the UNCP softball team will host a skills clinic on Saturday, Oct. 31 at LRA Softball Field on the campus of the Braves that will feature an intra-squad  scrimmage at 9 a.m. before the clinic begins at 11 a.m.

The clinic is intended for softball players ages 7-18 with the UNCP coaching staff and players acting as instructors. Melanson and assistant coach Adrian Tuttle will also talk to parents and student-athletes about the college recruiting process and how to prepare for the collegiate experience.

The cost of the camp is $40 per person for individuals or $20 per person for teams of eight or more players. High school, junior high school, middle school and travel ball teams are all welcome to attend.

The clinic will last approximately two hours and will cover hitting basics, defensive strategies and pitching techniques. All participants must have a parent or guardian sign a consent form in order to participate.
