Hobbs, Hunt, Cotten PBC All-Academic Honorees
The Peach Belt Conference released the women's basketball All-Academic team from the conference office in Augusta. Three Lady Braves, Kristen Hobbs, Illya Hunt and DeDe Cotten, were recognized by the conference office for their academic achievements at UNCP.

Haskins Adds Washington To Recruiting Class
UNCP womens basketball coach John Haskins has announced the signing of Redlands, Ca., native Domonique Washington to a National Letter of Intent for the 2010-11 academic year as the notable 5-6 guard declared her intentions to continue her player career with the Lady Braves squad.

Kemp Named To NCCISA All-State First Team
he North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2009-10 College Division All-State Womens Basketball Team on Monday. Among five individuals named to the NCCSIA All-State First Team was UNCPs own JaToya Kemp.

The UNCP womens basketball squad sent junior forward JaToya Kemp to all-Peach Belt Conference honors on Friday evening during a banquet in Aiken, S.C., site of this years PBC Tournament semifinals and finals.

Kemp Named PBC Player Of The Week
After leading the Lady Braves to a 2-1 record this past week, junior JaToya Kemp has captured Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week laurels, the league office announced Monday afternoon. It is Kemps second time this season to be the player of the week honoree.

Lady Braves Surge Past Flagler To PBC Tourney
UNCP finished out its regular season on a high note Saturday afternoon when the Black and Gold matched up against the Flagler Saints. With 11 Lady Braves putting points on the board it was a total team effort that surged UNCP past Flagler, 73-48, in the English E. Jones Center.

Facing their second overtime minutes in as many outings, the UNCP Lady Braves could not come out ahead on Wednesday evening against the Lady Pirates of Armstrong Atlantic, dropping the Peach Belt Conference contest in Alumni Arena, 83-80.

Lady Braves Pick Up "W" In Overtime
The UNCP womens basketball team faced their first overtime minutes of the 2009-10 season on Monday evening when it played host to the Saints of North Georgia in the English E. Jones Center. The Black and Gold came out ahead during its overtime period, making good on a costly turnover by the Lady Saints in the last seconds of the game for the Peach Belt Conference win, 88-85.

The No. 15 ranked Lander womens basketball team remained unbeaten in Peach Belt Conference play on Wednesday evening when the Lady Braves of UNCP met up with the hosting Lady Bearcats at Finis Horne Arena. UNCP could not match up against the shooting power of the Lady Bearcats who secured their lead in the first half and rode it through, ending the game 74-49.

The first ever meeting between the UNCP Lady Braves and the Tuskegee Golden Tigers at the GCSU Classic on Tuesday evening was plagued by turnovers, as the Black and Gold found themselves trailing for the majority of the game. However, the Lady Braves caught a late run and rode it through to the end, picking up their first win in three games, 65-63.
