Lady Braves Jump To 8th In Golfstat.com Head-To-Head Rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Fresh off their third tournament win of the season, the UNCP Lady Braves golf squad moved up two spots to eighth in the latest edition of the Golfstat.com head-to-head rankings released on the website on Wednesday.

UNCP spent the last two weeks in the 10th spot in the rankings and move up two spots following their win at the Lady Cougar Intercollegiate Classic on Tuesday in Columbus, Ga. In the win, the Lady Braves had three golfers finish in the top-five and four finish in the top-15 overall.

The Lady Braves have also captured medalist honors in three-consecutive tournaments with sophomore Meghan Moore winning top honors on Tuesday and at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate on February 6, and senior Katja Dammann taking the individual championship at the Newberry Invitational on February 15.

Moore (twice) and Dammann (three times) have earned Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week laurels on five of the possible seven occasions this year.The Lady Braves currently hold a team stroke average of 308.4 which leads the conference by 15.4 strokes per 18-holes, and Moore currently leads the conference with a 75.7 stroke average through 14 rounds of play. Dammann and Walor follow in third and fifth with averages of 76.4 and 77.8, respectively, and the Lady Braves hold down six of the 15-best stroke averages in the league with only five golfers being able to compete on the squad at a tournament.

The Lady Braves will go for their third-straight win on March 6-7 at the Armstrong Atlantic Pirate Spring Invitational in Savannah, Ga.
