Walors Capture Carolinas Mixed Team Championship
OCEAN ISLE BEACH – A pair of First Team All-Peach Belt Conference performers added some more accolades to their respective resumes on Sunday when Shauna Walor and Jordan Walor took the Carolinas Mixed Team Championship by five strokes at Panther's Run course of Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach.
The sister and brother duo carded a final-round score of 64 to best five-time defending champions Anthony and Debbie Adams of Asheville by five strokes.
Shauna, a junior, and Jordan, a senior, were featured on NCAA.com in late March after they both captured medalist honors at tournaments during the same three-day span. Shauna captured the first title after firing rounds of 78 and 77 to take top honors at the AASU Lady Pirate Invitational on March 6-7 before Jordan shot a three-under-par 149 on March 7-8 at the Richard Rendleman Invitational.
Shauna has 12 top-10 finishes over her two-year career with eight of them coming last season. She was named 2010 PBC Freshman of the Year for women's golf and was named First Team All-PBC last season.
Jordan has captured 15 top-10 finishes during his three-year career as well as five individual wins. He owns a career 72.8 stroke average and is a two-time all-American as well as the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Individual Championship.
