Moore Named PBC Women’s Golfer Of The Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – On the shoulders of capturing her third career medalist honors in leading No. 9 UNCP to its fifth tournament championship of the season on Monday and Tuesday, junior Meghan Moore has been named this week's Peach Belt Conference Women's Golfed of the Week, the league office announced.
Moore, a Durham native and Northern Durham High School product, carded a two-round total of 153 (76-77) en route to championship laurels at the Armstrong Pirate Women's Invitational. It was her first medalist honor of the season and third of her career after bringing home a pair of titles last season. The result marked her sixth top-5 finish of the season in seven total events. The weekly honor is her fourth career PBC Golfer of the Week accolade.
A two-year starter for the Lady Braves since transferring from East Carolina, Moore has tallied a 76.6 career stroke average through 36 rounds of golf for the Black & Gold, while also booking 15 top-20 finishes (18 total events), including 13 finishes inside the top 5. She currently leads the PBC with a 76.4 average through 14 rounds this season.
