Lady Braves Seventh In Initial NCAA South Region Women’s Golf Rankings

PEMBROKE – The UNCP women's golf team has put itself in great shape for a selection to the NCAA postseason as the Lady Braves checked in at No. 7 in the initial NCAA Women's Golf South Region Ranking released on Friday by the organization.

The Lady Braves are the first of three Peach Belt Conference teams included in the listing and join No. 11 Armstrong Atlantic and No. 12 Columbus State in the initial ranking. The state of Florida is represented in the first six spots of the ranking as Florida Southern possesses the top spot, but is joined by No. 2 Nova Southeastern, No. 3 Lynn, No. 4 Rollins, No. 5 Barry and No. 6 Saint Leo. South Atlantic Conference teams take up spots 8-10 with the inclusion of No. 8 Newberry, No. 9 Tusculum and No. 10 Carson-Newman.

The Lady Braves will learn their postseason fate on April 30 at 4 p.m. when the entire NCAA Tournament field is announced on NCAA.com. The 2012 NCAA Super Regional Two tournament is slated to be held, May 6-8, at the Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace, Fla.
