Moore Tied For Third After Three Rounds At NCAA Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Year Meghan Moore tallied five bogeys and one costly double bogey on the par-5 18th hole to register a 6-over-par 78 and a share of third place after three rounds of the NCAA Championships on Friday afternoon in Louisville, Ky.

Moore (+12) negated a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole with four bogeys on the front nine and played near error-free golf until carding a seven on the final green. She is four strokes off the lead set by No. 2 Nova Southeastern's Abbey Gittings (+8).

The top two spots on the individual leaderboard are occupied by Nova Southeastern players, giving the Sharks (+65) a healthy nine-stroke lead top-ranked Florida Southern (+74) and putting NSU in prime position to capture its fourth-straight national championship on Saturday in Louisville.

Moore and the rest of the 70-golfer field will return to the par-72, 6,283-yard Persimmon Ridge Golf Course on Saturday for the final round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. Tee times are set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
