Pauline Privitera enters her sixth season as an assistant coach with the Lady Braves after a standout playing career at Salem International and a brief stint in the Women’s Premiere Soccer League.

Privitera was a starter at center midfield for the Tigers for four seasons earning All-Conference honors in each year in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. She received the Leadership Award in 2004 and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2005, her final year with SIU. That year saw Privitera score six goals while also tallying 11 assists, leading the WVIAC in assists per game in only 10 contests.

During her career at SIU the Tigers compiled an 18-11-2 record in conference play reaching the WVIAC tournament championship game in 2004 and making it to the semifinals in 2005 falling to eventual the WVIAC champions in both seasons. It was also in 2004 that the Tigers head coach Marcu Guimaraes was named the WVIAC Coach of the Year.

After graduation she travelled to Miami, Fla., to play in the WPSL for the now defunct Miami Surf. While serving as a starter for the Surf Privitera worked as an instructor at the Hurricane Soccer Camps for the University of Miami and Coral Springs Christian Academy. In the Fall of 2006 she returned to Salem Int’l as a graduate assistant for the women’s soccer team.

A native of Toronto, Canada, Privitera graduated from SIU in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a minor in Psychology. She received her master’s degree in Education in July 2007, completing internships at the elementary and high school levels to earn her degree. Privitera is currently working on her second master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
