Davis, UNCP In Fifth After Day One Of UNCW Seahawk Invitational
WILMINGTON – Senior Katherine Davis grabbed a second place finish in the hammer throw to help the UNCP women's track team to log 13 points and a fifth place standing after day one of the UNC Wilmington-hosted Seahawk Invitational on Friday evening.
Davis posted a mark of 50.99m while Diricka Mitchell finished eighth with a throw of 41.23m. Jessica McDowell registered a leap of 5.21m in the long jump for a fifth place finish while Jessica Tulud finished 13th with a jump of 4.98m. Livia Mahaffie was the first Lady Brave to cross the finish line in the 5000 meter run, booking a 10th place finish with a time of 18:41.59, while Annette Sem finished 15th with a time of 19:07.64.
The women's track and field team will continue competition at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
