Mitchell Represents UNCP At Gene Anderson UNC Invite

CHAPEL HILL – Junior Diricka Mitchell was the only athlete from the UNCP women's track and field team to compete at the Gene Anderson UNC Invitational on Saturday afternoon in the Eddie Smith Field House.

Mitchell registered a new personal best in the weight throw as she finished ninth with a mark of 13.30m. She broke her original record of 12.94m set at the beginning of the 2012 season at the Kent Taylor Invitational hosted by North Carolina.

The women's track and field team will be back in action on Saturday when the Lady Braves travel to Savannah, Ga., to compete at the Savannah State Eyeopener hosted by Savannah State.
