Lady Braves To Face PBC Heavyweights This Weekend
The UNCP women's volleyball squad will head back out on the road
this weekend for another pair of Peach Belt Conference matchups at
Flagler and Armstrong Atlantic.
The Lady Braves (10-4, 2-2 PBC) will face off against the last two
PBC champions, with AASU taking the regular season and tournament
championship in 2008, and Flagler accomplishing the same feat in
2009. UNCP heads into the matchups following their 3-0 victory over
Winston-Salem State on Tuesday in Pembroke.
Flagler, currently second overall in the conference with 4-1
record, is currently 10-5 overall and were picked to win the
conference prior to the season by the PBC coaches. They made
it to the national semifinals a season ago. The Lady Braves will
face off against the Saints on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in St.
Augustine, Fla.
Armstrong Atlantic is currently holding a 7-8 overall record and a
1-4 tally in the conference. They were picked to finish
second by the league's coaches prior to the 2010 season. The
two schools will face off in Savannah, Ga. on Saturday at 7:00
p.m.
