Women Compete In UNCP Invitational
LUMBERTON - Freshman Annette Sem led the way with a seventh-place finish as the UNCP women's cross country team rattled off a fifth place finish (10 teams) at the UNCP Invitational Saturday morning at Luther Britt Park.
Sem led the Lady Braves with a finish of 25:12.40. Following Sem were freshman Blair Long and junior Catherine Shoemaker, finishing 20th and 21st with times of 26:24.79 and 26:37.07, respectively.
Augusta State won the team competition with three runners in the top-10. Pfeiffer finished second, and Wingate third in the event. Methodist’s Kristyn Zeiler won the individual gold with a time of 23:24.90, finishing almost one minute ahead of second-place finisher Holly Keeper (24:17.44) of Augusta State
The Black and Gold will travel to Wilmington next weekend to compete in the UNC Wilmington/Adidas Seahawk Invitational. The race is set to start at 6 p.m.
