Women Finish Fourth At Wilmington/Adidas Seahawk Invitational
WILMINGTON – Annette Sem lead the UNCP’s women’s cross country team again this weekend at the Wilmington/Adidas Seahawk Invitational. The Lady Braves placed fourth out of six teams with an average 5K time of 21:28.12
Sem, the first member of UNCP to cross the finish line, placed 28th in 20:24.21. Catherine Shoemaker crossed the finish line second for the Lady Braves in 20:58.79 for 34th place followed by Blair Long in 36th with 21:25.14.
UNC Wilmington finished first with 25 points, holding second place East Carolina to 42 points and third place finishers Campbell to 66 points. UNCP finished fourth with 118 points, 26 points ahead of fifth place Meredith. St. Andrews finished out the team rankings in sixth with 161 points.
The Black and Gold will travel to Greenville next weekend to compete in East Carolina’s Pirate Invitational. The race is being held at Overton’s Lake Kristi and is set to start at 8 a.m.
