Women’s Cross Country Ranked 5th In Latest USTFCCCA Rankings

NEW ORLEANS  – The UNCP women's cross country team is ranked fifth amongst the Southeast Region in the latest poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday morning.

The regional poll is divided up into eight regions with UNCP making an appearance for the first time in program history. Also included in the rankings are PBC opponents Columbus State (3rd), Augusta State (4th) and Clayton State (8th).

UNCP will be in action again on Friday when the team heads to the Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens in Charlotte. The women's 5K race is set to start at 4 p.m.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is the non-profit professional organization that represents men's and women's cross country and track & field coaches in the United States. The organization represents over 8,000 coaching members, including 91% of NCAA coaches. USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
